Karen (vocal and percussion)

Karen Powers -Born 1956 has been singing since she was 9 years old. Her very first song was House of the Rising Sun; she learned it out on the playgrounds in Erie, Pa with one of the Counselors.
Her present day brother-in-law Butch Hughes and his family (who were long times friend of Karen’s Mom and Dad) were very musical and they would sit around the house and play music. Butch himself had many bands and was an influence to Karen’s love for music.
Karen was part of the Storm Band in Pa in 1978-79 then moved to Florida. She has jammed with many bands up and down the coast of Florida since 1980. She was one of lead singers in the Many Hats Band out of Melbourne Florida in 1992-94. While living in Jacksonville in 1996 she joined in with the 50 Caliber Blues Band.
She moved to Chiefland in 1998 and started singing with The Underdawgs Band in 2000.

Karen honors her mentors with her rendition of their song. One is Patsy Cline's song "Crazy".

Look for the CD coming soon.
